That screen is LCD and not AMOLED. You're not going to read on this. Trust me. Especially in the night.. or direct daylight for that matter. There is nothing that justifies an LCD screen for reading in this day and age. Furthermore, almost ALL android tablets have color profiles and grayscale options. This is not new. Yes they placed the button in an easy to find position. No, this doesn't make it a reading tablet. They should instead make their app more publicly available.

There are a lot of different Taiwanese languages (and some of them are not related linguistically). What this reader has is most probably Mandarin.

Do Kobo ereaders sync books across devices? I currently have Kobo Libra H2O and I am looking for something more portable, so looking into Clara or the basic Kindle. If Kobo doesn't sync, I am tempted to try Amazon ecosystem otherwise, will stick to Kobo as I am used to the interface.

Waiting for my Meebook M7 .. I was lucky to get it at discounted price 140$.. Definitely it's more budget friendly than boox I like the idea to link it to Google drive to avoid sideloading content over wired connection every time.

Standard Lenovo M7 works too; 7 inch screen so cheaper, smaller, lighter. Download your own Android apps or Kindle, reduce screen brightness, set paper to amber or sepia, fine for reading.

a shame the review is not done for the main target audience, people all suited up during the hottest months. I see that as more or less the one situation where this really would prove its worth. From someone getting soaked daily walking in 100 degrees in a suit I would genuinely love to have seen how it looks on in that attire etc.

I was thinking a brute force (and albeit stupid & expensive) solution to the speed is by having two screens as a reader. You finish reading one screen, you go to the other. While you read the other, the former page finish changing.

It is running android 10. The video on the product page on Walmart states this.

I wanted this technology to work so bad. I don't care that videos are bad, actually I think that's a plus. E-readers should be just for reading and writing (including colourful magazines), not watching videos, we have tablets for that. I even question the writing part. Monopurpose devices are a blessing in this hyper connected world, where you can concentrate and focus on your reading. That's how it should be marketed.

I’m happy that Lenovo made a new tablet, because I think tablets are great in general. But I don’t agree with this tie up with B&N. It just doesn’t make sense, and it’s not good for the industry to introduce more confusion between screen technologies. It’s basically giving in to ignorance around the benefits of e-paper.

Nice to see the 9" screen come back. The Nook HD+ and Fire HD 8.9 hit a sweet spot for me with tablets.

Don’t see much difference between this and the Amazon Fire tablet. They are decent for general use, but not for reading books since they are still LCD screens that bothers most people’s eyes when reading for hours. Unless this new Lenovo Nook tablet has some type of newer anti-glare color screen similar to e-ink that’s comfortable to read for your eyes, it’s just another Amazon Fire alternative. Guess it’s a good choice for people who want to stay away from Amazon’s ecosystem.

I could see them coming out with a Paperwhite Palm, like the books Palma. They might be sued for calling it that, but what else are they going to call it? Maybe a Kindle Handy? Although, that does have some undesirable sexual connotations they may want to avoid. But if they want to make that a strength instead of a weakness, they could come out with a Kindle Reach-around.

I think they will eventually do color e ink although I don't think there is a significant market for it since most of what they offer in terms of content is black and white. I don't see them abandoning the Kindle because it is the means by which they drive so much in book sales. And they really do offer the best ebook experience at an incredible price. As far as a strictly e-reader device the Kindle Paperwhite is the best. And it's affordable.
